Setting up column validation in SharePoint 2013.

The out-of-the-box SharePoint features include the option to setup column validation for lists and libraries. You can enforce users to follow defined rules and enter only valid information to the columns and fields. On the Validation Settings page you can setup rules for columns and a custom messages for the case when a user enters incorrect data according to these rules.
